We’re very happy to announce that Creative Trust’s newest Open Source Tool Kit on Board and Governance, containing our most important internal documents, policies and discussion papers, has just been released.
You’re warmly welcome to use or adapt any of its contents, from a governance overview, to the separate and mutual responsibilities of board and staff, to committee responsibilities, human resources policies, a Board Orientation Package and much more.
As with all our Tool Kits, the purpose is to share whatever we think could be most helpful to other arts or nonprofit organizations. The experience of sorting through our numerous board and governance files to create this Tool Kit was a  vivid reminder of the amount of time and energy we put into this area – productively, and with good and important results. The Board and Governance Tool Kit is, among other things, a huge thank you to the many wise and helpful sources we borrowed from in our quest to put in place board practices that exemplified excellence in non-profit governance.
