Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Nightwood Theatre and Opera Atelier were awarded their final Working Capital awards on December 6th , marking the completion of the granting component of Creative Trust’s eight-year Working Capital for the Arts sustainability program. Almost $4 million in deficit elimination matching grants and working capital awards have been distributed to Creative Trust members over that period
The Creative Trust board was delighted at the success of these and other companies in building strong and healthy organizations with our assistance – and very happy to take part in the pleasures of “seasonal giving†by distributing cheques totaling more than $89,000 in the last weeks of 2011.
We continue to work on documenting and sharing the lessons of this enormously successful program. Look for our Open Source workbook series on community capacity building, beginning in early 2012.
